So I’m supposed to start at a new “place of work” next week. I’m still somewhat unenthused. I’m starting to wonder if it is a cover for a secret chicken death cult or something.
- I don’t know where or when to report to work.
- Until recently I didn’t have a written offer.
- The salary on the offer is higher than I was told verbally.
- They made a typo in the letter saying my yearly salary, based on current contractual rates will be $XX, XXX.58 per hour. Which is really quite good. I can work Tuesday afternoons every second month or so and still come out ahead.
- My orientation (so that I will be a productive and satisfied employee) will be May 16 2007. (4 friggen months from now).
There was also these tidbits thrown in:
- “This salary may be adjusted upon receipt of proof of relevant experience hours from your previous employers. If this is applicable to you, please provide proof of hours to HR.”
- “In addition, your educational preparation may entitle you to a qualification differential payment.”
As I said;
Unenthused.
bleargh.
