“results?

Why, man, I have gotten lots of results! If I find 10,000 ways something won’t work, I haven’t failed.”

- T.A. Edison

I’ve made an anti-procrastination list of both household chores and “I-wanna’s” a la Shaun from Shaun of the Dead (”1. Get Liz back. 2. Go round mum’s 3. SORT LIFE OUT“). One of the things on my list was “make sourdough bread.”

That’s where Mr Edison comes in. I found what looks like a great recipe for sourdough (new window). My starter, well, wasn’t as keen as I was. I think I starved it one night.

It’s about to come out of the oven and it currently has more in common with masonry than baking. It hasn’t really changed colour (that of a cinder block) or density (ditto). On the positive side, it smells nice in the kitchen now.
So, I remade some starter and will try again, undaunted. Maybe I’ll treat this one in a manner that won’t get me investigated by the Department of Sourdough and Family Services.
