Scene I: dinner table, after work one night. Discussing high and low points of our day. A few minute pause (eating!) precedes the following:

M: …So…I think I DO believe in God.

L: (!!!)

L: Oh? Well…that’s good.

M: Because…if there was no God, who created the first person?

L: (!!!)

L: Well, some people believe God created people, but I think that Science did. I think that over lots and lots of time people change and it’s been so long, we’ve been able to change from a small single cell, to what we are now.

M: Well…*I’m not changing*.

Scene II:

Lorraine at computer searching for “Amazon” “Evolution” “Preschool”
